Mall of America..here I come.

So, the kids have been gone since school got out.  The Hurricane picked them up, took them to Texas for a wedding, then on to Wisconsin to live a life of leisure.  Next week, The Hubby and I are driving up to pick them up.  At least that was the original plan.  After talking with my precious babies yesterday, apparently they want to stay longer..so now he and I are going up for our own vacation.  Now, to some people...staying at their in-laws for a week may not seem like a vacation.  But most people's in-laws dont live within an hour of the Mall of America.  that's right folks, the greatest shopping mall ever..and I have a whole entire week there.  I absolutely cannot wait. 

We aren't leaving til Sunday..but technically my vacation starts on Saturday.  There is an inter-state rivalry between the baseball teams in my state, and they are playing on my side of the state on Saturday.  My step-dad is a huge "other team" fan, so we get tickets every year.  We are tailgating and everything.  Brats, beer and baseball.  Seriously...the level of excitement coursing through my veins is palpable. 

The Hubby got a long awaited promotion and raise yesterday.  On his day off.  We've been trying for this for about six months...the funny part is that his new boss is a regular at my bar.  That wouldn't be considered a conflict of interest would it? 

Speaking of bar..I had some bar soap opera drama last night.  To sum it all up, a guy sitting at my bar had a girl with him..and a girl sitting at table.  He walked past the girl at the table to go to the restroom, and one of them launched a $9 glass of chardonnay across the restaurant.  My first instinct was "Oh, hell no.  She's paying for that wine".  Apparently table-girl and her friend were calling the police, so I fully expect an officer to come visit me today.  And not for a margarita.  Geesh...the view from behind the bar is priceless.
